Join us in Esmoriz for the first week of July and the best local festival of the year, Arraial Da Barrinha! 10 nights of music and street food stalls with all our favourite local cuisine: sardines, cod cakes, super bock and sangria. The main streets will be closed to traffic and a grand stage will face the sunset, with live bands on every night.
This year’s line up is going to be full of joy and diversity. Arraial Da Barrinha will be sharing the stage with Festim World Music Festival, bringing us sounds for all over the world. Headliners include Bombino (June 30), Tito Paris (July 1) and Susana Baca (July 2). Bombino, meditative and earthy Niger-based musician, conjures the expansiveness of the Sahara landscape. Susana Baca, from Peru, is a exemplar of the Afro-Peruvian musical tradition. Both are part of the Festim, the 9th edition of the Intermunicipal Music Festival of the World. And with Tito Paris, a Cape Verdean who sings in Creole and Portuguese, this is a very international Arraial. The festival finishes with a bang! Tiago Bettencourt, a legend in Portuguese music, closes the week on July 9.
