The Surfivor 10 Year anniversary party with the opening ceremony of the new Surfivor Surf Hostel in Porto was a great success!
We started with the Photo exhibition of our dear friend and famous surf photographer Tó Mané, who presented some of his best pictures of waves in north Portugal, as well as the famous photo of Gareth McNamara’s world record in 2011 at North Beach, Nazaré.

After serving the first aperitifs and snacks to our guests, who came straight from the beach, we lit the fire for a delicious Surfivor Style BBQ. Project Mandala filled the air with his ultra-hip reggae tunes and cool sounds from the surfing world. It was the perfect atmosphere for a great start to the evening!
Free drinks and food for everyone and lots of happy faces were the outgoing of the evening and people from all over came to join the party. Special the mayor of Cortegaça, Sergio Vicente, who has seen the birth of Surfivor back in 2004 and has been following our progress through out these years. It was great to have the support also of our close friends and local surfing community from Northcoast Surfboards, Surfacademia, MoreThanSurfing School, Tó Mané Photos, Surf At Night, Gonzo’s Surf Shop, Picaba Natural Café and of course our Surfivor Porto Surf Hostel and Surfivor Surf Camp Esmoriz!

For us it was a very emotional evening, as all the images of all these years suddenly started shooting in front of our eyes and the very nice memories of all the great moments in these past years jumped up again!
We thank everyone who joined and supported the party and celebrated with us the existing of 10 years Surfivor.
As promised, this was just the first decade and many more perfect waves and fun summers are coming our way.
Stay tuned… Life’s a beach since 2004!
