Let the summer begin with Porto’s Queima das Fitas Student Party, May 5 – 11 2019!
Queima das Fitas, Portuguese for Ribbon Burning, is a major event in the first week of May, before the study period for final exams. The week includes daily events, starting with the Monumental Serenata on Sunday. The week peaks with the Cortejo Académico on Tuesday, when all university students march through the downtown streets to city hall to be greeted by the Mayor.
During every night of the week at the Noites Da Queima, live concerts take place at the Queimódromo in Porto’s City Park. Surfivor Surf Hostel is located just 10 minutes walk away! Guests are welcome and encouraged to join the festivities, especially the nightly concerts. This is an excellent week to join us at Surfivor, as Porto is buzzing and boozing with lots of energy!
