Carnival is an excellent time of year to visit Porto! The expression “Life is two days and Carnival is three” represents the way that the festivities of this holiday are regarded in Portugal. This year Surfivor will throw some wood in the fireplace and turn up the heat, as the cold gives way to partying!

In Porto, street entertainment is guaranteed. During the weekend, Feb 9 – 11, before Carnival Tuesday (Feb 13), the locals take to the street in full costume. Think, ‘American Halloween’ in February: anything goes! Naturally the bars and clubs throw epic parties all night long. The best nightlife is usually Galleries de Paris. But as always at Surfivor, we can make the party wherever we are.

WINTER SURF CAMP & GUIDING

Come surf and celebrate Carnival with us! Winter is a great and highly underrated time to surf in Porto. Matosinhos bay calms those big winter swells and the harbor wall protects us from the wind. The winter thins out the crowds and we have all the equipment needed to stay warm in the water.
